Unemployment in California Rises to 12.5%. A total of 87,500 jobs were added to the California economy in 2010; mostly in the professional and business services, education, health and leisure/hospitality.  While this is well below the pace of job growth needed to bring down the unemployment rate, it is a big improvement .  From the Los Angeles Times.  This is a big improvement over  2009 when the state lost 836,000 jobs.   This message was brought to you by Daniel Barkley, Economist Ph.D
